We are blessed by our strong sisterhood, and also our community created through Auburn Panhellenic. Our community is unified, supportive, and uplifting making the Kappa Delta experience even more rewarding! We pride ourselves in being the first sorority on Auburn’s campus. Sigma Lambda was chartered on September 4th, 1922. Kappa Delta Sorority was founded in 1897 at Farmville University in Longwood, Virginia. Today Kappa Delta has 159 active chapters and more than 230,000 sisters worldwide! The principles and ideals upon which our organization was founded can be seen in everything we do as a chapter. The strong roots and values instilled in us through Kappa Delta are some of the reasons why our sorority is truly special.
We invite you to take a closer look into our chapter through our website. We hope you enjoy!
My name is Olivia Whatley, and I am honored to serve as this year’s President of Kappa Delta at Auburn University. I am thrilled to welcome you to our site where I hope you can get a small glimpse of who we are, what we stand for, and the foundation on which our sisterhood is built.
As a fourth generation Auburn student, I learned for myself early on what my family had always told me, “Auburn is a special place”. I knew quickly that Auburn would be my forever home, but what I didn’t know was that I would find that same feeling in my sorority. Running to KD on bid day I knew I had found a group of girls that would accept me, encourage me, challenge me, and allow me to grow in ways I never thought I would. The genuineness, intentionality, and sincere love found in KD captured me from the moment I walked through their doors. Their joy was contagious. KD is now my home away from home. I know it is four years of my life that I will cherish forever.
The principles and ideals upon which our organization was founded can be seen in everything we do as a chapter. The strong roots and values instilled in us through Kappa Delta are some of the reasons why our sorority is truly special. KD is much more than two greek letters, it is a sisterhood that will last a lifetime. As we draw upon each others strengths, and aim to build one another up in Christ, we strive onward toward the goal of a greater and better Kappa Delta. I invite you to join us as we continue to promote meaningful relationships, internal growth, and chapter excellence through our lasting sisterhood.
